Carlo Hein is active in the Luxembourgish construction sector and in the renewable energy sector since 1996 when he joined Becolux SA as administrator. Carlo is also president of FIABCI Luxembourg. He covers all competencies related to the development and management of a real estate project: from the beginning to the end of the project through financing and marketing reviews including an offer to manage building operations.
His assets lies in the vertical integration of all necessary skills for managing and developing a real estate portfolio providing custom made solutions to both investors and tenants while promoting the integration of the latest technologies to substantially reduce their operating and energy costs. His computer science background enabled him to reconsider how to implement building infrastructure management systems with cloud computing solutions.
Carlo believes that the third industrial revolution has already impacted the real estate industry and that building infrastructure management systems, the Internet of things, big data and digital factory are the concepts who will reshape the real estate industry.

President of the Foundation on Economic Trends

Jeremy Rifkin is president of the Foundation on Economic Trends and the bestselling author of nineteen books on the impact of scientific and technological changes on the economy, the workforce, society, and the environment. His books have been translated into more than thirty five languages and are used in hundreds of universities, corporations and government agencies around the world. His most recent books include The Third Industrial Revolution, The Empathic Civilization, The Hydrogen Economy, The European Dream, The End of Work, The Age of Access, and The Biotech Century.

Jeremy Rifkin has been an advisor to the European Union for the past decade. Mr. Rifkin advised the government of Spain during its presidency of the European Union (January 1st - June 30, 2010). Mr. Rifkin also served as an adviser to President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Prime Minister Jose Socrates of Portugal, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero of Spain, and Prime Minister Janez Janša of Slovenia, during their respective European Council Presidencies, on issues related to the economy, climate change, and energy security. He currently advises the European Commission, the European Parliament, and several EU heads of state.

Mr. Rifkin is the principle architect of the European Union's Third Industrial Revolution long-term economic sustainability plan to address the triple challenge of the global economic crisis, energy security, and climate change. The Third Industrial Revolution was formally endorsed by the European Parliament in 2007 and is now being implemented by various agencies within the European Commission as well as in the 27 member-states.

Mr. Rifkin is also the founder and chairperson of the Third Industrial Revolution Global CEO Business Roundtable, comprised of 100 of the world's leading renewable energy companies, construction companies, architectural firms, real estate companies, IT companies, power and utility companies, and transport and logistics companies. Mr. Rifkin's global economic development team is the largest of its kind in the world and is working with cities, regions, and national governments to develop master plans to transition their economies into post-carbon Third Industrial Revolution infrastructures.

Since 1994, Mr. Rifkin has been a senior lecturer at the Wharton School's Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania — the world's #1 ranked business school— where he instructs CEOs and senior management on transitioning their business operations into sustainable Third Industrial Revolution economies.

The National Journal named Rifkin as one of 150 people in the U.S. that have the most influence in shaping federal government policy.

Mr. Rifkin holds a degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Rifkin speaks frequently before government, business, labor and civic forums. He has lectured at hundreds of the world's leading corporations as well as more than 300 universities in some thirty countries in the past four decades.

Mr. Rifkin is the founder and president of The Foundation on Economic Trends (www.foet.org) in Bethesda, MD. The Foundation examines the economic, environmental, social and cultural impacts of new technologies introduced into the global economy.

As Chief economist and board member of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Carlo Thelen is in charge of economic affairs , analysis and studies, reports and statistics. He is the author of statements and opinions on bills and socio-economic regulations, including the Chamber of Commerce's statement on the State Budget.

In order to manage these missions, a national and international dialogue and coordination with private and public actors and partners are required.

Carlo Thelen also manages the International Department of the Chamber of Commerce, aiming to assist companies on foreign markets and to promote economic and commercial relations with foreign countries.
Apart from his activities as an economist, Carlo Thelen is involved in charity, notably as Secretary general of Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.

Robert James Oliver is a dual national (US and France) 30 year veteran of the New York City real estate market. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Pace University majoring in International Corporate Finance. In addition, he attended graduate studies at Teachers College of Columbia University and the Real Estate Institute at New York University.
A career-long member of the Real Estate Board of New York, he was a Senior Vice President of Joseph P. Day Realty Corp., a 100+ year old owner-management firm. Mr. Oliver held a broad power of attorney to represent the owners in all facets of property ownership, his signature empowered to bind to owner to all contracts of leasing, management, union negotiations, court settlements as well as all contracts dealing with vendors, contractors, and professionals. His skills and expertise were used both on ownership representation in leasing and marketing as well as management of the property and office staff. He personally directed the promotional brokerage staff reviewed potential portfolio acquisitions and managed the sale of assets at the appropriate time.
In addition, he designed and was the course coordinator and Adjunct Professor of Finance for the Real Estate program at Long Island University, New York City, and Assistant Adjunct Professor of Finance for Real Estate Finance at Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University, New York City. A sought after expert on International real estate Professor Oliver most recently taught Advanced International Corporate Finance to the International MBA class and Organizational Behavior to the MBA and MSc classes at the Paris School of Business, Paris France and has also designed and taught Sciences-Po Paris’ first ever graduate course on International Real Estate in the Masters in Economics program.
In addition to the Real Estate Board of New York, Prof. Oliver was a member of the Brooklyn Board of Realtors, The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce (Board Member), Downtown Brooklyn Management Association, founder of the Hudson Heights Owners Coalition (Manhattan neighborhood improvement association founded in 1994), Board member of three New York City Business Improvement Districts and Chairman of Two).
Prof. Oliver also holds a New York Insurance Broker’s license and has an active affiliation with Marsh &McLennan, one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the world. He holds a special New York State license to sell ‘Obamacare’ worldwide.
Robert James Oliver decided to leave his career behind and use his dual national status to apply his business acumen in the European market. True to his roots from his teaching experience at Stern College for Women, in 2014, Professor Oliver organized and moderated a panel discussion on "Executive Women in Real Estate: A Discussion NOT For Women Only", the first of its kind in Europe and hosted by the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Istanbul, Turkey, Armenian by origin, Kirkor Ajderhanyan joined the family construction and land development business at the age of 18, and since then he has been actively participating in all phases of real estate development from conception to sales. The family business was relocated to Nice, France in 1978, where Kirkor continued to work until 1999 when he, with his wife Karine, created “107 Promenade International Real Estate Agency,” currently a prominent market leader specializing in seafront apartments in Nice and throughout the French Riviera, as well as luxury properties in France and worldwide through selected international partners. Following their tradition, Kirkor and Karine’s children are today all involved in the “107 Promenade” Agency.

Actively participating in the real estate organizations, Kirkor has been a member of the French National Real Estate Association (FNAIM), since 1999. In 2006 he earned the professional designation of Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), conferred upon him by the US National Association of Realtors, and soon after the professional certification of TRC (Transnational Referral Certified).

Kirkor was instrumental in the formation of an International Relations Department at FNAIM, which organizes annual international congresses, attracting attendees from more than 40 countries worldwide. He currently serves as the President of FNAIM French Riviera International Relations Committee. In 2009 Kirkor initiated the creation of the Global Real Estate Think Tank, a forum where forward-thinking industry leaders gather to discuss the real estate global development issues and industry responses. He serves as Coordinator of the Think Tank.

In 2010 Kirkor was elected as President of the FIABCI World Council of Brokers whose mission is to provide valuable and well-tailored services to its members, enabling them to do more business. Kirkor is a regular speaker at major industry events – speaking as a highly successful broker/owner and representative of the FIABCI World Council of Brokers. He has obtained over 200 patents for his inventions, for example, in 1989 the pressure-free hot water boiler, in 1992 the non-electric air conditioning, in 1999 the cooling, heating and power (CHP) system, in 2005 the air purification technology with electrostatic cleaner, in 2007 heat recovery fresh air unit technology, in 2009 the factory-made sustainable building (BSB), each of his inventions has revolutionized its industry, making BROAD a globally recognized technological leader.

Facing the imminent situation of climate change, Zhang Yue dreamed of his
non-electric air conditioning to completely replace its electric one, saving energy by 2 times more. However, Zhang’s greater dream is to popularize BROAD sustainable
buildings worldwide, for its energy efficiency is 5 times more than that of
conventional buildings. In 2011, Zhang Yue was awarded as the Champions of the
Earth by the United Nations.

Pooran studied at Oxford and Cambridge Universities before co-founding environmental organisation, BioRegional in 1994. BioRegional is now an international network with offices in UK, Canada, South Africa and Australia.
He has worked in sustainable farming, forestry, recycling & eco-housing. In 1998, he drew together the partnership to construct Beddington Zero (fossil) Energy Development (BedZED), the UK’s foremost eco-village development where he lives and works.
In 2002 he coined the term ‘One Planet Living’. He has led BioRegional teams creating sustainability action plans for major mixed-use projects including Mata de Sesimbra in Portugal and Masdar City in Abu Dhabi. ‘One Planet Communities’ include Hollerich Village in Luxembourg proposed by Schuler Group.
In 2004, Pooran was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to sustainable development and in 2007 was made an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Fouder, Passivhaus Institute

Dr Wolfgang Feist, a physicist by training, came into contact with the problems of energy supply early on in his career and soon dedicated his work to the development of systematic solutions. Feist saw the answer he had been seeking in energy efficiency. Working tirelessly on the improvement of energy efficient in buildings since 1980, Feist developed and constructed the first Passive House in 1991 and played a key role in the development of the Passive House Standard. He was awarded the German Environmental Award in 2001 and the Göteborg International Environment Prize in 2003. In 2013, he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Practical solutions have always been the focus of Dr Feist’s work. With the founding of the Passive House Institute in 1996, he created an independent research institution that aids architects, engineers and component manufacturers in the development of highly efficient buildings and components.

In addition to heading the Passive House Institute, Dr. Feist is a professor of building physics at the University of Innsbruck where he has worked with the department of Energy Efficient Construction since 2008 to spur development in the region of Tyrol, Austria.

In 2002 he coined the term ‘One Planet Living’. He has led BioRegional teams creating sustainability action plans for major mixed-use projects including Mata de Sesimbra in Portugal and Masdar City in Abu Dhabi. ‘One Planet Communities’ include Hollerich Village in Luxembourg proposed by Schuler Group.
In 2004, Pooran was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to sustainable development and in 2007 was made an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

En 2012, elle change de structure de bureau en fondant « FABECK ARCHITECTES ». Depuis 2013, elle est vice-présidence du Conseil d’Administration de la Fondation de l’Architecture de l’Ingénierie au Luxembourg. Son bureau a obtenu de nombreux premiers prix à des concours d’architecture et d’urbanisme internationaux et réalise des projets publics et privés, résidentiels, tertiaires, universitaires et scolaires.

Major General the Honourable Michael Jeffery, AC, AO(Mil), CVO, MC (Retd) was born in Wiluna, Western Australia in 1937.

He graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon into Infantry serving operationally in Malaya, Borneo, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam, where he was awarded the Military Cross and the South Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He retired from the Army in 1993 and was appointed Governor of Western Australia until 2000.

Post retirement as Governor, he established in Perth, a not for profit strategic research institute – Future Directions International (FDI).

From 2003 to 2008 he served as Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia where his key interests were in youth, education and food security.

Upon his retirement as Governor-General, he accepted Chairmanship of FDI, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Outcomes Australia and Soils for Life, along with patronages of a number of other not-for-profit organisations.

He is the Australian Chairman of The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust and has recently been appointed the National Advocate for Soil Health by the Prime Minister.

Married to Marlena, he enjoys golf, cricket, fishing, reading and music.

Eva Beleznay has an architectural and urban planning study and work experience from Hungary and the USA. After having worked as an urban planner and consultant in both the private and public sectors, she became the Head of the Deputy Mayor’s Office responsible for urban development of the City of Budapest. In her role as the main advisor for the Mayor and his Deputy, and later as the Chief Architect of Budapest she was responsible for providing leadership and policy direction in the areas of the capital’s regional and urban development, planning and design, urban regeneration, architectural quality control as well as for project development. Most important projects included the Heart of Budapest Program, City Hall Forum, European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), Danube Strategy and its projects, Kelenföld-Etele intermodal subcenter, Olympics 2020, Csepel-North development program. Her priorities are urban regeneration, sustainability, and community actions for liveability.
Since 2010 she works as a private consultant. She works to strenghten the coexistance of top-down policy-making and the bottom-up implementation and awareness processes. She has been a member of several working groups of the Chamber of Hungarian Architects (CHA). She is a Board Member and the Head of the Public Affairs Working Group of the Hungary Green Building Council. She is a BREEAM expert and a national Certified Real Estate Broker and Appraiser.

Mayor Jason Hu studied at National Cheng-Chi University of Taipei, Taiwan. He received his Master of Sciences from University of Southampton and Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University in England.

After his studies, he worked as the Deputy Director of the First Bureau for the Republic of China in 1991 and the minister of Government Information Office in the same year. In 1996, he was a member of the National Assembly and was appointed R.O.C Representative to U.S.A. One year later, he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs during 3 years. In 2000, he worked as Director General at the Culture & Communication Affairs Committee in Kuomintang Party and he has become the Mayor of Taichung since 2001.

Ken Creighton directs RICS’ contribution to the development of international standards. He also oversees our education and qualification standards and the technical standards developed in RICS’ 17 professional groups.

Ken joined RICS in November 2011 from the IFRS Foundation, where he was director of Content Services. In this role Ken worked with countries adopting IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) as issued by the IASB (International Accounting Standards Board). As well as supporting adoption of the standards internationally, Ken led the Foundation’s content dissemination processes, which included translation, licensing and product sales.

Before joining the IFRS Foundation in 2005, Ken was a senior manager at Ernst & Young. During his tenure there Ken led a number of international projects while based in its Washington DC, Madrid and London offices. Previous to joining E&Y, Ken was an associate analyst at Prudential Securities' Washington research office and also a legislative correspondent in the United States Senate.

Ken holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. Originally from Seattle, Ken has lived in London with his family for over a decade.

In his current role with RICS, Ken's responsibilities include:

- Working with leading industry bodies to create and develop international standards
- Managing the development of technical guidance and policy through RICS’ 17 professional group boards
- Setting and maintaining RICS’ membership standards and competencies through our Membership and Education Standards boards

Tony Grant was born in London, UK in 1942 and has spent a lifetime in the real
estate profession. He founded Grant & Partners (Property Advisers, Appraisers,
Surveyors and Estate Agents) in London in 1965. The firm initially specialized in
industrial and warehouse agency, but later diversified into office property, development
and investment consultancy as well as project management and property
management.
By 1987 Grant & Partners had grown to a total of 12 partners and 140 support
staff. In that year, Tony Grant was invited by one of his firm’s major clients, Ladbroke Group PLC (later
Hilton PLC), to head up their United States property subsidiary, London & Leeds Development Corporation.
He ended his executive involvement in Grant & Partners and moved to New York on a five year contract.
He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of London & Leeds with direct responsibility for a
4.7 million square foot office development program in Boston, New York, Washington D.C. and Miami
representing approximately $1.5 billion of investment.
Tony Grant returned to London at the beginning of 1993. In June of that year he joined the Board of Olives
Property PLC as Chairman & Joint Chief Executive, having purchased a substantial interest in the
company. Olives was a small UK based public property investment and development company whose
shares were quoted on the main London Stock Exchange.
During the subsequent five years the gross assets of Olives Property grew from approximately £5.6 million
to £58 million. Olives was sold to Hemingway Properties by means of an agreed takeover transaction
in May 1998 and Mr. Grant left the Board to take up the World Presidency of FIABCI (the International
Real Estate Federation) for a one year elected term.
Between 1999 and 2002 Tony Grant was active in the UK as a real estate investor and developer utilizing
his private family funds.
This activity was transferred to South Carolina in January 2003 when he moved to the USA as a permanent
resident and continues to the present time. He became a U.S. Citizen in 2007.

In 1971, Claudine Speltz left Belgium for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
In 1986, Claudine Speltz set up as an accounting and tax advisor, and managing agent of co-ownerships. She has been a member of the CIGDL (Real Estate Chamber of Luxembourg) since 1994 and director since 1997, became President from 2005 to 2011 and Honorary President in 2012. She was a founding member of a number of associations, including the Association of Professional Managing Agents of Luxembourg (GSPL), the Association of Accounting and Tax Advisers (ALCOMFI), and the President founder 2004-2010 of the Women entrepreneurs’ Federation of Luxembourg (FFCEL) and Honorary President since 2011.
She was chosen as “Manager of the year 2004” by the economic editorial team of the daily “Tageblatt”.
In 2006, she received the European trophy awarded by the European Council of Women, Enterprises and Commerce (CEFEC), presented by Simone Veil and Renaud Duteil, French minister for SMEs, Commerce, Crafts and Liberal Professions.
In 2011, she was elected president of the European Council of Property Managers (CEAB)
Since 2012, she took a new turn in her career towards consultancy and mediation relating to co-ownerships and relaunched her activity in accounting and taxation activities relating mainly to property and she was elected as director of the clc (Luxembourger confederation of commerce and services), and CEPI’s President (European Council of Real Estate Professions).
